To make the desugarings possible/easier, this book takes the liberty to assume a few extra Rust features available; this section describes them.

These are overwhelmingly not my ideas! These come from RFCs, giving a syntax to existing MIR operations, or ideas I've seen float around in random Zulip threads over the years. I tried to give credit when I knew who to credit.
